THE NEEDS, DESIRES AND URBAN PLANNING:

Located in Cabopino, one of the most exclusive neighborhoods in Marbella, facing the golf course, THE CAPE urbanization aimed to reinvent the concept of a second luxury semi-detached home.

Embedded in the land literally of a plot with a strong north south slope, each house adapts to the terrain at different levels and alignments, giving the whole a movement of volumes similar to those of typical Andalusian villages and guaranteeing the privacy of each house .

A longitudinal street gives access to the houses with magnificent views of the golf course and the Mediterranean Sea.

THE ARCHITECTURE:

For this type of projects with a steep slope, the architects resolved the spatial relationships of the different environments in section, not in plan, resulting in rooms 4 meters high and unconventional distributions that enriched and gave originality to the project of each house.

Taking advantage of the unevenness of the land, the distribution of each house was proposed in three levels, with the staircase, almost transparent, in the center of the house as a binder of the three floors. On the lower floor there are two bedrooms en suite with direct access through a porch to the garden with a heated pool.

On the top and highest floor of the house, you will find the master bedroom, dressing room and bathroom with views of the golf and the sea. This floor has a large terrace where in some homes is the heated pool and solarium.

The house is accessed through the middle floor and at street level of the urbanization. This floor is divided into two levels, the access level, with a dining room and kitchen and the lower level of the living room / porch, high-rise and with impressive views through 4-meter high windows, forming a large space for use. ambivalent, in summer and winter.

The exteriors combine typical materials from the area, whitewashed facades, stone walls and baked clay sidewalk.

The whole set has a smooth movement of simple shapes and a pleasant play of light and shadow.

INTERIOR DESIGN AND DECORATION:

The interior design is marked by strong architectural elements such as the communication staircase of the floors, the large windows, the exposed concrete of the porch pillars and pergolas and the unevenness of the floors.

Light tones have been chosen for the walls, large-format graphite gray porcelain for the floors.

Being a promotion for sale, the show house has been equipped with furniture of timeless and neutral modern lines to emphasize the uses of the rooms and highlight the architecture.

OUTSIDE:

Without a doubt, gardening is very important in this type of project. Two levels of gardening treatment were proposed.

At the community level, it has been treated with paving stones, planters incorporated into the great stairs and Japanese gardens, creating different routes and rest areas with native trees.

The bushes forming silvery masses of eleagnus, in contrast to the mastic, accompany the movement and open and close the views of the sea.  Taller shrubs such as the Aralia or the nandina drawing groves that contrast with their showy leaves with a cut-out silhouette.

Small trees such as Caste Walnut or Japanese maple establish a background and scale, marking groups, opening views and marking the end of paths and squares ...

Each house in particular has a garden weighted with grass, pallets and local planting.
